Before a microneedling treatment with Dermapen, it is important to stop using products containing active ingredients such as acids, retinol or AHA/BHA 3-5 days before the treatment. This reduces the risk of irritation during treatment. After treatment, you should continue to avoid these products for a further 3-5 days to ensure optimal skin health and results.

After a microneedling treatment with Dermapen, the skin may become red, but the redness usually subsides within 24 hours. At Ljoma Hud, we apply a sterile and adapted BB cream after the treatment to cover the redness. In combination with chemical peeling, light flaking can occur, which is a natural part of the skin's renewal process.

For optimal results with microneedling with Dermapen, 3–6 treatments at 4–8 week intervals are recommended. Improvements can be seen already after the first treatment, but the greatest results appear after 2-6 months when the skin renews itself naturally.
